Our Team

Digital Chemistry is part of our Group Digital Innovation organization within the Group Science and Technology Office. Our team challenges the status quo of all biological and materials processes in Life Science, Healthcare, and Electronics. We source in new technologies and build internal, user-oriented digital chemistry products. Our mandate is to support our labs with digital tools, increase sustainability, reduce time from ideation to market, and increase impact to the group.


Your role

We are currently hiring a Sr. Machine Learning Scientist in our Science and Technology office. This key role will strengthen our Digital Chemistry team, driving digital innovation across our business sectors with data and physics based technologies. The successful candidate is expected to independently deliver projects, developing AI driven workflows our pharma and life science pipelines, as well as in our chemical processes and material development sectors. Your efforts will play a significant role in raising the bar of our digital transformation journey. You will communicate with our internal stakeholders and partners, assisting them in understanding and implementing the most relevant technologies. In an environment that values open disagreement and decisive action, you will be part of an interdisciplinary, globally based team. 
 
This role can be operated from either Cambridge (USA) or Shanghai (China).
 
Who you are

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Degree in Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics or Data Science in related field, PhD is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in using data-driven modeling
  • Machine learning expertise with natural science context, proficiency in programming, e.g., Python or other languages
  • Strong publication record in scientific modeling, deep learning, or a similar area 
  • Excellent at communicating and operating in an international environment
  • Bonus: Industry experience or a track record of applying innovative solutions materials project delivery
  • Bonus: Hands-on knowledge in generative AI for chemistry or biology
