We are looking for an outstanding engineer to bring to bear advances in NLP and language models to directly improve the quality and velocity of developing software across Apple. The candidate should be someone with proven mastery of system software development, NLP development, and a rich mix of education and practical experience with a real passion for diving headfirst into challenging problems. As a member of our ML innovation team, you will be moving software development at Apple in new directions, from ideation through execution. Description


Our team works on evolving a set of innovative services and tools that combine to enable superior developer productivity. You’ll find ways to combine our unique problem domain with cutting-edge ML techniques in order to support the new ML-driven programming paradigm. You’ll analyze problem requirements, existing solutions, and available systems and make high-level architectural decisions, building proofs of concept and ergonomic front-end solutions used by internal developers and designers. Once solutions are identified, you will work alongside your team to implement them while developing appropriate testing and operational mechanisms. You will be most successful here as a flexible and proactive engineer who thrives in a supportive, respectful, and balanced work environment with interesting and challenging problems to address. You have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisions to guide and unblock your team. You know how to drive constructive discussion of design points, learn from your team, and use your experience to advocate and teach others.

Minimum Qualifications


  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with NLU/NLP systems.
  • Experience with unstructured data curation/generation


Pay & Benefits


  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $116,106 and $208,300 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
