Software development Engineer III (Machine Learning)

A high performing individual contributor who mentors junior engineers. applies new data engineering principles to improve existing systems, and leads complex, well-defined projects.

  • Effectively applies knowledge of software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions.

  • Effectively uses the understanding of software frameworks and how to leverage them to write simpler code.

  • Leads/clarifies code evolution in code reviews.

  • Contributes to design discussion for big data applications.

  • Effectively applies data manipulation techniques commonly used by Data Scientists.

  • Effectively applies an understanding of dependency management in DS/ML systems.

  • Coordinates bringing together different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues, and contributes own suggestions.

  • Thinks holistically to identify opportunities around policies/ processes to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries.

  • Assists with a whole system approach to analyzing issues by ensuring all components (structure, people, process and technology) are identified and accounted for.

  • Identifies areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offer suggestions for improvements.

  • Recommends advancements, innovations and changes in technologies (specifically relating to machine learning engineering, ML platforms, DS models, enterprise information management, business intelligence and data science).

  • Compiles and reports on major operational or technical initiatives (like RCAs) to larger groups through written or oral means.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent experience. Technical degree preferred.

  • 4+ years of Software Development work experience using Java, Spring, Rest APIs and similar technologies.

  • Strong technical proficiency, capable of problem-solving and applying critical thinking.

  • Deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms and data structures

  • Strong background in Java and/or Kotlin, Cloud computing, such as the AWS stack and messaging systems like Kafka

  • Experience in designing and implementing APIs in different API styles like REST, gRPC, GraphQL

  • A self-starter who is consistently looking to innovate and find ways to enhance our customer’s experience, with ability to own epics from end to end

  • Experience with SQL and NO-SQL databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySql and MongoDB
