The Role
Overjet is hiring entrepreneurial-minded engineers to build a new AI-driven insurance product from the ground up. Collaborating closely with our product manager and cross-functional teams, you will define and drive the technical direction. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of dentistry and make a significant impact on the industry.
If you are local to the SF Bay Area, we encourage in-person collaboration twice a week at our Palo Alto office hub.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain impactful software solutions that enhance our customers' ability to deliver the best outcomes for patients.
- Write efficient, scalable, and high-quality code, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Serve as a key technical partner to cross-functional teams, including Product, to drive project success.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
- Regularly scheduled and sometimes ad-hoc on-call rotations is part of the core job every engineer on our team
Qualifications
- Excellent academic background in Computer Science or other related field.
- Significant relevant experience writing code and delivering products with increasing levels of responsibility, preferable as an early engineer at a start-up.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, C#, and Swift.
- Strong familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure.
- Proven track record of mentoring engineers and developing talent within the team.
- Experience in cultivating a strong engineering culture in an iterative, agile environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical, and mission-focused environment.
