The Team
We are forming a dynamic team within our newly established AI Center of Excellence (CoE) at Hitachi Digital. This team will collaborate closely with NVIDIA to drive innovation, combining Hitachi’s domain expertise in operational technology (OT) with cutting-edge AI technologies.

The Role

You will:

  • Lead the development of state-of-the-art machine learning systems and help guide the transition of these technologies.
  • Be responsible for the design and development of information technology architecture for internal and/or external clients.
  • Serve as a technical expert on solutions design, development, and implementation requirements to address business needs.
  • Analyze the functionality and constraints of recommended solution/changes across multiple systems/platforms/applications.
  • Ensure compatibility, interoperability, stability, and usability of solution architecture.
  • Recommend tools and capabilities to our Hitachi group of companies as a part of a continuous effort to leverage emerging technologies
  • Require broad and deep technical knowledge and experience across varying infrastructure requirements, development, design, and re-engineering.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with teams supporting AI and machine learning research in the industrial automation, energy and transportation sectors

What you’ll bring

  • 15+ years of experience within digital transformation, IoT, IT/OT convergence, AI, cloud computing, big data analytics, and related emerging technology solution sales, preferably within industrial, energy & transportation sectors
  • Technical expertise:
    • Generative AI: Experience with training, fine-tuning, and inferencing using generative AI models.
    • Accelerated Computing (GPU): Proficiency in managing GPU resources for AI and deep learning workloads.
    • Data Processing techniques for data processing, including those tailored for AI and generative AI.
    • Strong understanding of HPC architectures, including clusters, grids, and supercomputers.
    • Database Systems: Knowledge of vector databases (e.g., PGVector), SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
    • Linux Administration: Installation, configuration, and networking skills.
    • Virtualization Technologies: Experience with VMware, Kubernetes, or other virtualization technologies.
    • Documentation: Ability to create reference architectures and build guides.
    • Thorough understanding of classical and modern machine learning theory and practical experience implementing approaches in deep learning and neural networks,inference methods, statistics and information theory
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge:
    • Hitachi’s Domain Solutions: Understanding of Hitachi’s operational technology (OT) solutions in energy, mobility, industrial automation and connected systems.
    • NVIDIA Expertise (preferable): Familiarity with NVIDIA software platforms, including CUDA™, NVIDIA AI Enterprise, Omniverse™, and Modulus.
  • Hands-on experience with IT operations and capable of handling proof-of-concepts (“POC”) as needed.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry vertical solutions.
  • Strong and proven track record of working with partners and alliances.
  • Strong communication skills; fluency in English language both written and oral with ability to deliver well-structured presentations (incl. whiteboarding).
  • Proven track record in fostering strong client relationships, particularly with C-level executives.

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is:

Tier One Location ( New York City and California Bay Area): $177,900 - $254,000.

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.  Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
