Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

 

Our team is focused on the design, development and deployment of capabilities that enable the end-to-end delivery of the Enterprise ESG framework. Senior Machine Learning and Data Engineer is responsible for developing application for large-scale data processing and analysis. You will work with all stakeholders to design best in class technology solutions. What will you do?

  • Productionalize, optimize ML based or any other advanced analytics models and algorithms tailored to address precise business challenges.
  • Implement reusable pipelines and MLOps solutions, to optimize machine learning models and other quantitative algorithms life cycle management.
  • Drive adoption and maturity of MLOps, with focus on adopting model performance monitoring, conduct A/B testing with renewed change management, and iteratively improve model accuracy and overall solution efficiency.
  • E2E technical competency including conducting data analysis, data preprocessing, and feature engineering to prepare datasets for model training.
  • Work alongside data scientists, quantitative analysts, software engineers, data engineers, and domain experts to collect requirements and establish project goals.
  • Document machine learning processes, methodologies, and results to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field at the Bachelor's or Master's level.
  • 4+ ML related experience (platform, modeling, ML engineering); 1+ years of focused experience in MLOps projects. Experience with data manipulation, preprocessing, and feature engineering techniques.
  • High-level expertise in programming languages such as Python, highly proficient in both data and ML frameworks, such as Spark, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ray, etc.
  • A comprehensive grasp of ml methodologies and principles, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and NLP/GenAI
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Strong communication and collaboration skills.  Champion best practices and in constant pursuit of engineering excellence, automation, and best in class user experience
  • Stay current with the most recent developments in machine learning research, methodologies, and technologies, integrating them seamlessly into our workflow.

Nice to Have

  • Additional languages such as Java, Scala
  • Experience with building ML solutions in public cloud in a large enterprise environment
  • Prior exposure in the Financial Industry, especially supporting top-of-the-house risk analytic functions (such as Market Risk, Credit Risk or Liquidity Risk), in the design and development of the regulatory frameworks.
