The Opportunity

When you join EY Consulting team, you’ll do more than just advise businesses, you’ll collaborate with key decision-makers to help them make better choices. Our team is dedicated to leverage business expertise and cutting-edge technology to solve complex challenges facing our clients. We are currently expanding our capabilities in AI (incl. Generative AI) technologies and are looking for a skilled AI consultant to join our dynamic team, which works with both public sector institutions and major private companies in the CESA region and beyond.

This role involves both technical proficiency in AI and strong consulting capabilities. The ideal candidate will not only possess the technical skillset necessary to support AI initiatives (such as performing technology assessments or developing GenAI solutions prototypes) but also the communication and consulting expertise required to effectively interact and guide stakeholders at all levels.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Use your expertise in AI, Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics technologies and solutions to advise our clients how to best solve their business challenges.
• Translate complex technical details into clear, actionable advice for non-technical stakeholders.
• Design and implement AI solutions using various technologies that address client-specific needs and add tangible value.
• Apply your conceptual and technological knowledge to develop AI solutions architectures.
• Act as a liaison between specialised technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Provide recommendations and roadmaps for the full-scale rollouts of AI solutions.
• Establish relationships with teams & client personnel at appropriate levels when needed.
• Develop your professional knowledge and experience.

Attributes to thrive in the role

• Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or other relevant fields such as Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
• A minimum of 3-year experience with AI technologies, with at least one-year experience in Natural language Processing (NLP) / Large Language Models (LLMs) / Generative AI (GenAI).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms effectively.
• Knowledge of programming principles and best practices related to software development, AI engineering and MLOps.
• Ability to look at the AI solutions from systemic perspective including data, technology, and algorithms.
• A high level of people skills for communication and collaboration, crucial for an international team setting.
• Proven ability to lead, provide feedback, and promote growth among junior team members.
• Ability to work with vague requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable tasks.
• Resilience and dedication to excel professionally, with a resourceful and innovative mindset.
• Ability to maintain efficiency and foster a team-oriented environment under pressure.
• Strongly results oriented and demonstrated ability to take an extra step when necessary to push project teams forward including hands-on activities related to solution prototyping and/or development.
• A passion for continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

 Attributes that would be advantageous

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Streamlit, NumPy, SciPy and/or similar.
• Familiarity with AI related technologies and tools (e.g., Kedro, Kubeflow, Azure ML, Vertex AI, Azure AI Studio, LlamaIndex, LangChain, etc.).
• Familiarity with building AI solutions using cloud (Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP).
