Meet our Team
This role will help shape the next generation of checkout at PayPal impacting over 400+ million consumers and 30+ million merchants around the world, developing instrumentation capabilities to assess product performance and working with partners to successfully integrate ML and AI into their Checkout experiences - In this role you will be responsible for driving and executing the instrumentation needed for monitoring the consumer experience and product performance, as well as the data loops that feed into the AI And ML driven personalization roadmap across PayPal’s checkout experiences.

Job Description:

Your day-to-day   

In your day-to-day role, you will

  • Build the instrumentation and personalization training loops across PayPal’s checkout experiences at PayPal working cross-functionally to deliver personal consumer journeys with PayPal, no matter what the consumer is buying on what site, or which PayPal product they are using.

  • Drive product vision and create capabilities that feed contextual data into our AI and ML models.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally in defining the training loops and requirements across different products, implementing instrumentation, and reporting on performance and opportunity.

  • Evangelize, Communicate, and Influence, with data-driven insights to gain alignment on vision, roadmap, investment needs, risks, and opportunities with large cross-functional teams.

  • Execute instrumentation with excellence in a cross-functional setting, building strong relationships with key stakeholders (data engineers, software engineers, product analytics, merchant tech, and other business teams) to deliver on product instrumentation, product insights, and experience personalization.

  • Develop experiments playbook so our models and teams are constantly learning and developing and evangelizing a strong point of view on how to improve KPIs.

  • Define and measure key performance indicators to evaluate and understand product value.

  • Identifying new opportunities based on data, research, industry trends, and best practices, driving innovation.

  • Deliver results. Own business outcomes and be responsible for hitting experience and revenue targets.

What you need to bring

  • 2+ years of experience in AI/ML and Instrumentation Development and/or 5+ years of experience in Product Management, with demonstrated success in launching and scaling multiple 0-1 products

  • Technical and business acumen with instrumentation and data loops and ML/AI product background are critical along with demonstrating experience in defining and driving transformation initiatives.

  • Experience inspiring and mobilizing all levels of the organization with your product vision, data-centric thinking, and customer/developer passion.

  • Being comfortable in navigating ambiguity and establishing an iterative roadmap and experimentation culture.

  • Defining the product and customer experience with high-quality business requirements and user stories while managing the scope of each product release and refining the technology architecture and scalability for the use case.

  • Helping the teams move forward swiftly with rigor, speed, and transparency in decision-making. Removing roadblocks, setting a consolidated vision, and collaborating with excellence across all functions is critical.

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or Masters in STEM fields
  • Highly skilled problem-solving and technical skills. Demonstrate a tech-savvy approach and love to stay on top of industry trends.

  • Excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).

  • Self-starter who doesn’t hesitate to proactively approach learning fast

  • Skilled at working with cross-functional groups and matrix organizations in multiple geographies to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience in areas like e-commerce, checkout, payments, and/or risk domain - a plus

  • A ‘can do’ spirit combined with high energy and a positive attitude.
