As a Principal Software Engineer, Knowledge and AI, you will develop industry-leading capabilities in knowledge and AI that power Dataminr's real-time alerting platform. You will apply your experience in software engineering and knowledge graphs to shape the future of Dataminr's automated alert generation at massive scale. Partnering with data scientists, researchers, and product owners, you will lead the development of our Knowledge Platform, tackling complex problems related to big data ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and loading into our multi-million node Knowledge Graph (KG). You will develop and apply AI-powered automations that ensure the recency, consistency, and quality of the information stored in the KG. The opportunity
Lead the development of Dataminr's Knowledge Platform, including the Knowledge Graph (KG) and all supporting services.
Design and develop the data ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and loading pipelines to ensure that the KG is populated with up-to-date and complete information.
Partner with data scientists and researchers to develop new capabilities that combine knowledge and AI for automated alerting at scale.
Define and implement AI-powered automations to ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of data stored in the KG.
Partner with Dataminr content experts to develop solutions that simplify access to information stored in the KG.
Optimize the Knowledge Platform performance for real-time services such as Named Entity Recognition (NER), Entity Linking (EL), and hallucination mitigation (GenAI/LLM)
What you bring

M.S. in Computer science. Ph.D. studies in any field is a plus.
8+ years of software engineering experience, with knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
Deep understanding of knowledge graph concepts, graph database technologies (Neo4j, AWS Neptune, etc.) and graph query languages (Cypher, Gremlin, SPARQL, etc.)
Proficiency in programming languages used for data processing and AI, such as Python, Java, Scala, and C/C++
Experience with data engineering workflows, including ETL and data enrichment.
Experience with cloud-native development and distributed systems.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with researchers, data scientists, and product managers.
Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to deliver concrete and impactful solutions to complex, loosely-defined problems.

Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience, among other factors. Please note this salary range does not include any potential bonus or commissions tied to this role and is related to the fixed salary only.
Colorado: $180,000 - $203,000
New York/California/Washington: $200,000 - $222,500
