The Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) (https://www.anl.gov/cnm) at Argonne National Laboratory (near Chicago, USA) has an immediate postdoctoral opening on computer vision for materials imaging. The postdoctoral researchers will work on developing and applying computer vision algorithms and software, used in conjunction with atomistic simulations, to accelerate the analysis of state-of-the-art microscopy images (including electron microscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy, and ultrafast electron microscopy). The postdoctoral researchers will be collaborating extensively with microscopists, theorists, and computer scientists at Argonne and elsewhere.
Please include a detailed curriculum vitae including a list of publications and the names and email addresses of three professional references with your Workday application.
In your cover letter, please
describe your experience with machine learning/computer vision;
describe your software development experience; and
indicate your expected start date and US work eligibility status (if known).
Optional: If desired, please attach one representative publication that best showcases your work.
Postdoctoral appointments are on a one-year basis, with a maximum term of three years, subject to performance evaluation. Reviews of applications will begin immediately until the position is filled. For additional questions, please contact Dr. Maria Chan (mchan@anl.gov).
