About the Team
Machine Learning for Financials and Document Intelligence is responsible for the architecture and development of the machine learning technologies underpinning one of Workday's fastest-growing lines of business. Our work is a blend of large-scale data processing, battle-hardened machine learning methodology, and microservice design that places craftsmanship at the forefront of everything we do. We are responsible for our Document Intelligence platform as well as building intelligence into the heart of the Workday Financials product suite.About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on technical and people leader who contributes to software design and ML methodology as well as production code. You will work with external customers, product management and senior technical leaders to:
Deliver on the product roadmap
Own the day-to-day agile activities of the team.
Mentor team members for career growth and personal development.
Attract, hire and maintain a team of skilled engineers.
Be a strong advocate for development process, engineering best-practices, product quality and a culture of improvement.
About You
Basic Qualifications for Manager:
3+ years of Engineering Leadership delivering products at scale
Demonstrable experience with Machine Learning frameworks and algorithms
Proven track-record of leading ML-enabled products from conception to deliver
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Additional Qualifications for Sr. Manager
5+ years of Engineering Leadership delivering products at scale
Demonstrable experience with Machine Learning frameworks and algorithms
Proven track-record of leading ML-enabled products from conception to deliver
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Other Qualifications:
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Track-record leading a multi-functional and geographically distributed team
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Experience with cloud technologies and modern cloud-native architectures
Experience presenting complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
