Machine Learning Engineer III

The MetaSearch Team is looking for a passionate Machine Learning Engineer III to join our team. The Meta Bidding operations team is responsible for ensuring to submit the latest bids to our various Meta partners in the most reliable, secure and transparent way through various ML and bidding pipelines.


The engineering team is based in London and Seattle, supporting users globally. We process hundreds of automated workflows dealing with a large volume of data. We believe that the best solutions for a diverse customer base come from a diverse team. We seek new ideas, different ways of thinking, varied backgrounds and approaches. What you’ll do:

  • Work in a cross-functional team of Data and Machine Learning engineers to design and code large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines in AWS

  • Use concepts of object-oriented design, distributed computing, performance/scalability tuning, data structures and algorithms to batch/real- time data processing

  • Mentor junior engineers, lead projects, provide the feedback loop to stakeholders and partner teams

  • Apply software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions

  • Develop and test standard software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements

  • Develop data applications using distributed ETL frameworks

  • Communicate effectively about highly technical and complex concepts in a way that is tailored to your audience

  • Feel comfortable challenging authority/the status quo

  • Report clearly on current work status

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in a related technical field; or equivalent in related professional experience

  • A high performing individual contributor who mentors junior engineers, applies new ML principles to improve existing systems, and leads complex, well-defined projects

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the ML space

  • Strong in Python, Spark/Scala or Pyspark, and SQL and have a moderate familiarity with other applicable languages

  • Previous experience building ML pipelines on AWS/GCP/AZURE public cloud infrastructure

  • Built and maintained ML pipeline in end to end production environments including feature engineering, model training, model scoring and model validation

  • Experience with building and supporting Airflow DAGs

  • Hands-on experience with OOAD, design patterns, SQL and NoSQL

  • Familiarity with at least one data stores or API access patterns and Big Data applications such as Hive, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, DataBricks, Kedro, Dremio, Tableau, etc.

  • Built and maintained streaming applications in a hybrid/cloud infrastructure

  • Demonstrated the ability to select among technology available to implement and solve for need

  • Know to build, publish and deploy Docker image

  • Experience with testing, debugging, and fixing issues within established SLAs

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
