Machine Learning Engineer Responsibilities

• Design core, backend software components, and code using primarily C/C++, Java, and PHP.
• Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools.
• Interface with other teams to incorporate innovations and vice versa.
• Conduct design and code reviews, and analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
• Test programs and code libraries for errors and provide technical support to fix faulty lines of computer codes.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to develop software solutions.
• Build large-scale server applications, develop and debug in C/C++ or Java/C#.
• Working with software operating system internals, file systems, programming language design, and compilers to complete a wide range of machine learning-related coding projects.
• Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit parallel environments such as distributed clusters, multicore SMP, GPU, and more.
• Working closely with engineering teams to suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements and create effective feature roadmaps.
• Coordinate database development with other team members to analyze and design databases within an application area.
• Update and expand existing applications and software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, and improve its performance.
• Design and customize software applications with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and one year of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires one year of experience in the following:
• Machine Learning Framework(s): PyTorch, MXNet, or Tensorflow
• Machine learning, recommendation systems, computer vision, natural language processing, data mining, or distributed systems
• Translating insights into business recommendations
• Hadoop, HBase, Pig, MapReduce, Sawzall, Bigtable, or Spark
• Developing and debugging in C, C++, and Java
• Scripting languages: Perl, Python, PHP, or shell scripts
• C, C++, C#, or Java
• Python, PHP, or Haskell
• Relational databases and SQL
• Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
• Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scripting
• Build highly-scalable performant solutions
• Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction
• Applying algorithms and core computer science concepts to real world systems as evidenced by recognizing and matching patterns from different areas of computer science in production systems
• Distributed systems.
