The Position

To implement Artificial Intelligent solutions, data science algorithms are converted into machine learning models. These Machine Learning models are scaled up and transformed into AI solutions/system. Machine Learning Engineer enables this journey from data science to AI solutions/systems. This role is key executioner of implementing Novo Nordisk Inc. digital strategy on ground and ensure business ideas are converted into real value for patients.

Relationships

This role reports to an Associate Director in AI ML CoE.

This role interacts with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, AI leaders and vendors for NNI on a daily basis. This role also interacts with global AI team from HQ as well as from other verticals or affiliates on quarterly basis to share best practices, share learnings and stay aware of Novo Nordisk AI progress.

This role in individual contributor in Novo Nordisk.

Essential Functions

  • Provide ML Ops and ML services to data scientists, such as data preparation, feature engineering, model selection, optimization, deployment, and monitoring
  • Work closely with product SMEs, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand the business requirements, use cases, and objectives of AI and ML initiatives
  • Develop, and deploy end-to-end AI and ML solutions using AWS services, Dataiku, Python, and other relevant technologies
  • Scale up the ML models to handle large volumes of data and requests, using Dataiku and AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, SageMaker, etc.
  • Provide best practices reference to data scientists and other AI and ML users
  • Facilitating enablement, knowledge sharing and collaboration sessions
  • Troubleshoot the issues in deployed ML models and pipelines
  • Enable and contribute in creating the solutions ranges from data ingestion to user interface, using cloud development
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, such as business users, data scientists, developers, testers, etc.
  • Create and maintain documentation, reports, and presentations on AI and ML projects and solutions
  • Perform governance and compliance tasks related to AI and ML, such as data quality, ethics, privacy, and auditability
  • Keep exploring and researching new and emerging tools, techniques, and trends in AI and ML, especially in the domain of GenAI
  • Work in a SAFe agile framework, following the principles and practices of agile development

Physical Requirements

Approximately 5 to 10 % overnight travel with possible international travels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • At least 2 years to 5 years of experience in machine learning and data science, with proven track record of delivering successful AI solutions
  • Experience using Dataiku highly prefered.
  • Professional working experience with AWS services, such as S3, EC2, Lambda, SageMaker, etc.
  • Proficient in Python, R, SQL, and other programming languages for data analysis and ML development
  • Knowledgeable in ML concepts, techniques, and algorithms, such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, etc.
  • Experienced in cloud development, with skills in web development, visualization, UX/UI, etc.
  • Exposure in various ML best practices, standards, and methodologies, such as SAFe agile, ML Ops, ML governance, etc.
  • Exposure to Azure and other cloud platforms, and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and quality
  • Curious and passionate about learning new things and exploring new possibilities in AI and ML
  • Open to learn and implement new relevant tools
