The Opportunity:

Join our world-class Machine Learning team at FactSet and advance the state-of-the-art in financial applications. We develop and implement scalable ML platforms and systems that empower us to deliver exceptional new products and services to our clients. You will manage a team of machine learning engineers and/or projects within the AI/ML department and help to direct and nurture a team of ML engineers in the development and enhancement of our natural language chat bot application. You will be responsible for leading the machine learning component in the design and development of the core engine of our AI-driven chat bot solution that enhances discoverability and usability of FactSet’s content and capabilities and optimizes clients’ workflows.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) Project: improved experience for clients /automation/cost savings.
  • Maintain completed ML/NLP programs: All processes used by clients will be supported and any issues with them will be quickly addressed.
  • Research for new ML/NLP project: Optimize existing machine learning models and develop innovative solutions to improve performance.
  • Communicate project status with business stakeholders. Business stakeholders/senior managers know when to expect a completed project.
  • Holds regular meetings for projects (and reports, if any) Helps with any blocks for any projects, to ensure quicker deliverables.
  • Mentor/train junior machine learning engineers Junior machine learning engineers gain experience and do better work.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in production environments.
  • 3-5 years leading or managing a team of up to 5 engineers.

Critical Skills:

  • Proven expertise in cloud architecture (ideally AWS) and associated services.
  • Solid foundation in Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning/Deep Learning/AI.
  • High proficiency in Python, Docker, and API development.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.

Highly Desirable/Additional Skills:

  • Experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Llama, etc.) and integrating them into production systems.
  • Deep learning libraries (Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Understanding of financial data and applications.
  • Familiarity with big data tools (Pyspark, Hive) and databases (MongoDB, SQL, NoSQL)
  • NLP expertise (nltk, SpaCy), especially with unstructured data.

Education:

  • MS degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
