Meet the Team:

The camera sensor suite is a fundamental pillar to Torc’s autonomous system. The camera team is responsible for the camera hardware component as well as the software interface to the virtual driver. We derive and own the functional/performance requirements for the camera component and drive the development with our partners at Daimler Truck and camera suppliers to series quality. As an agile team, we develop the software interface to provide camera data to the Virtual Driver with high integrity. With our in-house camera laboratory, we guarantee high-quality releases of our software and hardware components. Your contribution will have an unequivocal impact on the future of trucking and autonomous technology.

  • What you'll do: 

    • Lead an international team of 5-8 software and hardware engineers for camera development.
    • Own technical roadmap and represent the team for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Establish plans and ensure the teams’ delivery towards milestones.
    • Interface with component suppliers and lead technical development.
    • Set operational standards and drive performance against those standards; ensure standards are aligned between teams.
    • Responsible for performance management, individual career development, and coaching of the team members.
    • Recruits high-quality technical candidates to fill open headcount.
    • Establish and maintain a culture of respect, productivity, collaboration, and positivity.

    What you’ll need to succeed:

    • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and 10+ years of experience OR Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of experience
    • 4+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams, ideally in an international environment.
    • Deep knowledge of professional software development (C++, Python) and ability to guide the team to deliver quality code.
    • Experience with requirement management tools (preferably IBM DOORS Next and JAMA) for managing project requirements and interdependencies.
    • Understanding of series hardware development processes and tools.
    • Strong communication skills.

    • Experience in cameras development and image processing in a professional setting.
    • Experienced in development of autonomous or advanced driver assistance systems
    • Experienced in requirement and test engineering (ASPICE)
