Welcome to Dexter Energy! From our headquarters in Amsterdam, we are a progressive scale-up using cutting-edge AI technology to predict and optimize renewable energy generation. We're driven by our mission to make the power system greener and more affordable, altering the landscape of the energy market. We're passionate believers in the ability to make a marked difference in tackling climate change. Our proprietary software makes renewable energy sources more predictable and profitable, nudging fossil fuels off the grid, and accelerating the transition to sustainable energy.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will join our talented Engineering department, working in the Infrastructure team which enables Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Engineers in other teams to go faster, instead of working on Terraform code, storage, load balancing and related areas. The infrastructure team is moving these concerns away, allowing them to focus on the bigger picture: making renewable energy sources win the energy market!
This year, the Infrastructure team is building a Platform and rearchitecting GCP - a lot of greenfield work is planned on this. This DevOps Engineer role is a great fit for senior-level engineers who would like to take the lead in designing and implementing a piece of the infrastructure puzzle.
Some examples of the puzzle include topics on how we manage our AI workloads on GKE on GCP, scale massive amounts of data across multiple cloud platforms, keep costs under control while allowing for extensive Machine Learning experiments, improve our security posture, and define and implement standards and best practises around SRE and DevOps.
This role is a good fit for you if you like taking full ownership of large infrastructure projects which entail stakeholder management, as well as designing, building and maintaining our infrastructure, and assisting and guiding our product teams on any DevOps-related topics. You’re doing this by advocating for SRE and DevOps best practices.
You will be teaming up with Adriaan, DevOps Tech Lead; Matthijs and Cole, DevOps Engineers; and Jan, our Engineering Manager.
To be successful in this role, you should be excited to join a company that is working towards a cleaner energy future. You should thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment and be motivated to keep learning new things. You should care deeply about writing great software, following the latest best practices in terms of implementation details, documentation, and automated testing.
