RESPONSIBILITIES

Our team of experts in artificial intelligence with focus on Generative AI, natural language processing, graph technologies and distributed computing realizes solutions as well as components to maximize the business value from AI and speed up innovation. We are seeking an experienced AI/ML engineer to join our team of AI enthusiasts. In this role you will leverage cutting-edge and proven technologies to reshape the way we execute business processes and innovation. If you are passionate to maximize value generation from latest developments in AI and have a strong background in ML engineering with practical experience in realizing solutions, don’t hesitate to contact us!

  • In close collaboration with domain experts, cross-functional and digital product teams, you will design, develop, and deploy AI-based solutions including Generative AI and large language models to address challenging use cases in different domains, from automating tasks and business processes to mastering complexity and driving innovation.
  • You will validate the feasibility of new technological developments and methods to maximize value contribution and ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Working together with platform and product teams, you will integrate your AI developments in existing workflows and solutions.
  • In addition, you continuously improve and optimize AI models to enhance their accuracy, scalability, optimize computational as well as cost efficiency and compliance with rules and standards.
  • You always keep your knowledge and expertise up-to-date and share it with colleagues to promote a learning culture of AI-driven innovation across BASF.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • degree (M.Sc./PhD) in computer science, mathematics or related engineering
  • extensive experience in applying deep learning and machine learning architectures, including transformers, large and small dedicated language models to solve business problems and speed up innovation in industry
  • excellent software development skills with deep experience in Python, working with ML frameworks and tools in cloud environment
  • problem-solving attitude, excellent analytical thinking, and strong communication skills
  • proven experience in advanced prompt engineering, fine-tuning, orchestration preferably in combination with graph technologies for mastering complexity in industrial applications is a plus
