Technology Modernization – Senior Consultant

Your key responsibilities 

CIO’s are positioned to partner closely with the business to drive capital efficient growth, enable customer experience, modernize, and transform their technology portfolio. IT organizations have historically run in a project-led, waterfall methodology with increasing pressure from the business to run IT at a reduced cost year over year. There is an opportunity create modern IT operating models that better align with strategic business objectives and drive value-add, business enabling, revenue generating activities. In the digital world, most business investments and ventures will require technology. To enable digital transformation, EY influences technology executives to drive outcomes and revenue in partnership with their business stakeholders.   

Skills and attributes for success 
A senior Consultant is responsible for delivering client engagements across the full spectrum of Technology Modernization including: Enterprise Platform optimization, Intelligent Automation design and implementation, IT Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change, Configure), Technology Asset Management and Technology revamp. 

To qualify for the role you must have 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a consultant in the IT field or comparable industry experience 

  • Demonstrated understanding of technology management frameworks and operating models. 

  • Understanding of leading Governance and IT Service Management models (e.g. ITIL) 

  • Demonstrated ability to liaise between business, technology, and vendor teams. 

  • Willingness to travel to meet client obligations 

Ideally, you’ll also have 

  • Experience working with a Big 4 or boutique technology consulting firm preferred 

  • Experience working in an IT Operations environment  

  • Experience working in a fast-paced team environment and ability to adapt quickly to change 

  • Experience participating in development & implementation of IT strategy, digital transformation, Technology governance structures, and IT Operating models. 

What we look for 

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with technical resources to understand issues and challenges. 

  • Ability to assess and create strategies for the reduction of technical debt. 

  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with business teams, technical teams, and vendor teams to drive operational efficiency, protect the business, and mitigate technology related risks. 

  • Capability to provide analytical support to IT Operations and present insights and customer requirements that facilitate better decision making. 

  What we offer   We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $90,600 to $166,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $108,700 to $188,700.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
