ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Manufacturing Team is responsible for the delivery of Pfizer’s Core Digital Manufacturing Operations Management (MoM) capabilities at every level of the PGS Plant Network (ISA 95 Levels 0-4). These solutions are critical to Manufacturing Execution, Manufacturing Process Intelligence and Production Optimization that aim to improve product quality, increase asset utilization/uptime, automate manual workflows and streamline plant floor operations.  The Digital Manufacturing Team provides common application platforms and solution capabilities for Digital Plant, Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Execution, Manufacturing Insights and Digital Quality solutions, while ensuring a unified User Centric Design. Key to the success of this transformative digital mindset is the secure, seamless flow of contextualized data from the device & control levels, all the way to the top of the Enterprise. These solutions are deployed across more than fifty manufacturing & center locations across the PGS Globally. Major Core Solutions and team capabilities for the Manufacturing Operations Solutions Team include:

  • This group supports the design, development, delivery and digitization of PGS Manufacturing and Engineering processes. Process Areas (Systems) include Industrial Internet of Things, Enterprise Data Historians, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing Operations Solutions (Manufacturing Intelligence, EAMS Maintenance Mgmt & Calibration, Capital Mgmt, Permit to Work, OEE/RTE, Engineering systems), Manufacturing Execution Systems and Manufacturing Innovative Technologies including AI/ML and Generative model based digital solutions.

The AI Cloud Engineer plays a key role in delivering the future of Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities within the Digital Manufacturing Organization. With flexibility and resilience as the guiding principles for future success, Digital M4.0 Solution Engineering will adopt a cloud-first mentality when it comes to building or support upgrading IT infrastructure. The Digital M4.0 Solution Engineering team is looking for an experienced candidate for the cloud engineer position to join our growing team and support our vision to “Win the Digital Race in Pharma” and transform PGS into an AI-driven organization. The successful candidate will be a cloud computing expert, modernizing, developing and consolidating cloud solutions in cloud infrastructure, automating workloads, and driving next-generation innovation across all platforms to ensure a secure and reliable cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and can customize them to meet business needs securely and efficiently. Deep knowledge of cloud maintenance, coding, working with developers, and advanced industry knowledge is essential to keep us on the cutting edge.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing cloud solutions for Digital M4.0, coding for the cloud according to the use cases, and working with stakeholders ensuring delivered solutions work optimally for their business needs.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, work along with others to identify root causes, fix and document problems, implement preventive measures, and avoid recurring issues in the cloud solutions.
  • Implement design review process, clear code, and best practices in cloud solutions, execute MVPs/PoCs in the cloud, and provide pertinent training when necessary.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving and development skills, proactive monitoring, and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
  • Work in an agile environment and partner with digital teams and delivery the reliable and sustainable cloud solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in medium to large cloud projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of enabling teamwork in a matrix environment.
  • Proven ability to build coalitions and develop strong partnerships across functions.
  • Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC; as well as scripting/programming languages such as Python, Spark
  • AWS certification either AWS Solution Architect Associate or Professional

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of experience  in designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on the AWS platform, particularly AWS Glue, S3, MSK, Sagemaker, EC2, IIoT Core, and other services; good database knowledge in SQL and core DB concepts.
  • Proven technical collaboration skills, such as the ability to collaborate with other SMEs to address design, operational, and security initiatives across functional boundaries such as organizations and business functions.
  • Strong oral and written communication/presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate information and effectively collaborate with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
