Do you have an interest in embedded machine learning aspects and would like to practice your academic knowledge in a multinational organization?
The Product Lines Radar Processing and Audio Processing are enabling the car to sense its environment for advanced driver assistance toward autonomous driving and zero road fatalities and supporting the entire automotive chain from antenna to speakers. In this exciting role, you will be challenged by taking your part in the future of Automotive Electronics.
Who are we
We are a team of 20 engineers located in Nijmegen. You will be cooperating closely with the members of our AI/ML and Industrial engineering competence team.
Background
Checking whether an IC complies with its specifications after the manufacturing process is an essential task to guarantee the quality of devices shipped to the customer. Currently product specification validation is only possible on the bench, whereas in an industrial environment we screen only deviating devices based on certain thresholds. As a result, we have a limited visibility on essential circuit datasheet specifications.
Objective
We aim to predict product specification (Output Power, Phase Noise,..) during industrial ATE (Automated Test Equipment) testing using supervised machine learning models and the available structural tests (ATB, RINGO, Leakage,..) as features. This Master thesis explores the topic of machine learning in an industrial testing environment and its limitations. The focus will be on exploring machine learning approaches to predict the product specification in a reliable and robust way under different circumstances. Production and qualification data will be available for the interested student to perform the following tasks:
Explore the different Feature Selection / Feature Engineering techniques
Explore the use of Non-Linear regression models
Explore the use of multiple test stages (Wafer test, final test,..) to improve the model
Model monitoring
What's in it for you
Ability to develop your skills (technical, soft skills, communication, etc.)
Gaining experience in a multinational and diverse environment
Possibility to become part of NXP’s Young Professional Talent Pool
Working on real assignments which contribute to NXP’s objectives
Your Profile
Master student in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related field
