Thomson Reuters Labs in North America is seeking a Technical Product Manager to join it's Legal Technology team. This individual will drive the vision and execution for one of the CoCounsel research teams and will product manage for a cross functional team of technical professionals. Technical PM's are responsible for defining, socializing, driving and reporting on product objectives and Key Results and their corresponding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes assembling product roadmaps, defining epics and features, collecting and reviewing user feedback, refining user requirements, prioritizing and driving execution, and adjusting delivery schedules as needed to drive progress towards OKRs. The technical product manager partners with leadership to plan for team resoucing, effective team collaboration and to properly estimate and communicate delivery timelines. They ensure their team is aligned with partnering product, engineering, content, design and subject matter expert teams. In addition, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance to partner product teams during all phases of development.

About the role:
In this opportunity as Technical Product Manager, you will:

  • Develop and articulate a clear technical vision and product strategy that aligns with business objectives and is informed by a deep understanding of user needs, market trends, and technology advancements.

  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and execution of the product roadmap, ensuring it reflects priorities, market opportunities, and competitive positioning.

  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with product, engineering, design, and subject matter expert teams to ensure alignment on and effective execution of product delivery.

  • Serve as a key liaison, communicating and translating between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to drive shared understanding and decision-making.

  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team, encouraging agile practices and a mindset that adapts to change and embraces new opportunities for growth.

  • Champion agile methodologies, facilitate cross-functional meetings, and support the team in overcoming obstacles to ensure on-time, high-quality product delivery.

  • Guide the end-to-end development process of products and services, from ideation through launch and lifecycle management, balancing business requirements with technical feasibility and user experience.

  • Utilize technical expertise to drive design and implementation of user-centric features, leveraging analytics, user research, and feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the user experience.

  • Monitor market and technology trends to proactively adapt product features, ensuring the product stays ahead of industry developments and maintains a competitive edge.

  • Oversee the product feature development and release process, establishing standards, processes, and validation practices that ensure quality and compliance.

  • Continuously assess and prioritize product enhancements and decommissioning, ensuring the product suite remains relevant and streamlined.



About you:
You are a fit for the role, Technical Product Manager if you have:

  • Residency in/are based in Central or Eastern time zone

  • Bachelors degree in a STEM field

  • At least 5 years of experience in technical product development, including end-to-end delivery of technical products.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate a compelling strategic vision and present complex information clearly to a diverse audience.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence within a matrix organization.

  • Experience practicing agile project management and scrum methodologies.

  • Ability to conduct user research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience using data and metrics to inform decisions.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in technology, design, marketing, and other departments to effectively weigh tradeoffs in technologies and execution strategies.

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.

  • Experience balancing short-term tactical execution with strategic long-term vision.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a STEM field.

  • Experience managing technology roadmaps and product portfolios.

  • Experience developing and managing NLP-based products, particularly in contract drafting, review, or document analytics.

  • Familiarity working with product analytics and data visualization tools.

  • Experience developing machine learning capabilities and overseeing their product integration, especially previous experience as a product manager, data scientist, engineer, or designer.

  • Understanding of common machine learning techniques, concepts, and best practices.

  • Experience managing cross functional teams with end-to-end business ownership.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record in a high-growth environment.

  • Experience aligning leadership stakeholders from separate organizations within the business.

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, especially AWS and Azure, as well as modern software architectures such as microservices.

  • Proven track record of successful product scaling, especially in global markets.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
