Who we are:

Gatik, the leader in autonomous middle mile logistics, delivers goods safely and efficiently using its fleet of light & medium-duty trucks. The company focuses on short-haul, B2B logistics for Fortune 500 customers including Kroger, Walmart, Tyson Foods, Loblaw, Pitney Bowes, Georgia-Pacific, and KBX; enabling them to optimize their hub-and-spoke supply chain operations, enhance service levels and product flow across multiple locations while reducing labor costs and meeting an unprecedented expectation for faster deliveries. Gatik’s Class 3-7 autonomous box trucks are commercially deployed in multiple markets including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada.

About the role:

We're currently looking for a tech lead with specialized skills in Behavior Prediction. You will play a vital role in developing ML models that accurately predict the behavior of surrounding agents and plan optimal trajectories for our AVs. You will play an essential role in helping accelerate the development and deployment of our AV technology - designing, implementing, and deploying these models both on-vehicle and within simulation environments for validation. This position has a strong technical background, hands-on software engineering experience, and a knack for solving hard problems.

What you'll do:

  • Develop algorithms to advance research in agent behavior prediction in interactive scenes
  • Frame the open-ended real-world problems into well-defined ML problems. Creatively and collaboratively build new deep learning models that can predict the future behavior of other road users in real-time
  • Design and develop offline generative models for use within simulation and validation environments, ensuring accuracy and fidelity in representing real-world scenarios
  • Work with large-scale datasets collected from sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, and radar to extract relevant features and preprocess data for model training
  • Conduct thorough validation and testing of machine-learned models in simulation and real-world environments to ensure robust performance and generalization.
  • Analyze model performance and identify areas for improvement, iterating on design and implementation to enhance prediction accuracy and reliability

What we're looking for:

  • Ph.D. or highly qualified M.S. candidate in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or related field
  • Experience in statistical inference and machine learning
  • Good programming skills in languages such as Python and/or C++
  • Experience in open-source deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Tensorflow
  • Experience with latency of analysis and optimization of safety critical software systems
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, parallel programming, code optimization, and Strong experience in software engineering and algorithm design large-scale data processing
  • Strong experience in software engineering and algorithm design
  • Experience in data science including data collection, analysis, hypothesis formulation and verification
  • Experience with simulation environments for autonomous vehicles, such as CARLA, SUMO, or similar platforms, is a plus
  • Publications in top-tier conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICRA, IROS)
