Technical Illustrator Working Student/Intern

Salary range:
€12-15/hour for Working Students (20h/week), €2,250/month for Interns (40h/week) Please, note: For this position, it is mandatory to be officially enrolled in a German university.

Your role

The Technical Illustrator is responsible for creating clear, accurate, and visually compelling illustrations, diagrams, and graphics to support technical documentation, marketing materials, and other visual communication needs. This role requires a strong understanding of technical concepts, artistic skill, and proficiency in relevant software tools, with a focus on visualizing software & hardware architecture, industrial processes (e.g., agriculture, manufacturing), and value creation for various industries.

Your day-to-day

Key aspects of your work:

  • Conceptualize and Create: Develop technical illustrations, diagrams, zines, schematics, flowcharts, and other visual representations from feature specs and other reference materials
  • Visualize Complex Systems: Translate complex software and hardware architectures, industrial processes (e.g., agriculture, manufacturing), and value chains into clear and intuitive visual representations
  • Technical Accuracy: Ensure that all illustrations adhere to technical specifications and real industrial processes
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard software such as Figma, Miro (possibly also Adobe Illustrator and 3D modeling tools) to create high-quality illustrations
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver visuals that meet their needs

Technical background
