About the Team

The Communications team at OpenAI is a group of seasoned professionals in PR/media relations, public policy, employee communications, community and audience development, design and other external-facing functions. We work to educate reporters, policymakers, researchers, developers, customers and the general public about OpenAI, our values and our technology.

About the Role

We are looking for a Talent Partnerships team member dedicated to building and nurturing relationships with key figures in the arts, entertainment, technology, and other fields. This role is focused on building trust around OpenAI’s mission and work and educating on OpenAI’s technology. You will represent OpenAI as a trustworthy, responsible leader that works with the people and industries most directly affected by our technology. In this role, you’ll be an ambassador, focused on educating and inspiring thought leaders, encouraging their support and advocacy.

High-profile industry leaders become our allies and evangelists that inspire others in their field to adopt AI tools and think about their disciplines in new and creative ways. You’ll spend time with them and understand their process, their motivations, the challenges they face, and their professional landscape. We will often want to give them early access, special training and support, and may decide to support their philanthropic or creative projects.

You will facilitate a feedback loop between OpenAI and influential figures, effectively communicating our mission, vision, and goals while seeking and sharing feedback and insights to inform product development and policy decisions. You’ll be responsible for building and executing strategies that cross an evolving number of industries.

This role is based in San Francisco or Los Angeles, CA. We offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and nurture authentic, high-value relationships with celebrities, artists, key industry influencers, thought leaders, and strategic partners to keep influential voices energized and connected to OpenAI.

  • Provide early access briefings, special training and support, and build feedback loops to our internal teams.

  • Work closely with the Communications team and other key internal stakeholders to share our point of view and the potential of AI.

  • Build proactive communication plans to make sure industry leaders have accurate information, and to demonstrate the positive impact of AI tools.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have experience managing talent relationships in one or several disciplines.

  • Are deeply curious about ways in which artists and creatives are embracing AI tools for their workflow.

  • Have exceptional communication skills and can distill complex technical concepts into conversations that are meaningful for creatives.

  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working across teams and departments with colleagues from different backgrounds and areas of expertise.

  • Are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities and technologies.

  • Are resourceful and can find creative solutions to challenges.

  • Believe in the importance of transparency and authenticity in communication.

  • Are mission aligned with the goals of OpenAI.
