Data Platforms Organization is focused on providing differentiated data product offerings which provide tremendous value to our clients by identifying and mitigating financial fraud leveraging capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our clients span issuer financial institutions, acquirers, merchants, payment card program managers and fintech’s. The Staff Product Manager will build and enhance the AI/ML platform's core capabilities including feature engineering, MLOps and end to end observability, with focus on accelerating these capabilities for model training and development of Visa's strategic flagship AI models. This role involves understanding the needs of data scientists and translating them into an efficient, robust platform that enables the building, testing, and deploying of features for AI models. The product manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, and user experience, to deliver a world-class product that enhances our AI/ML capabilities.
This role will be a key contributor to the Global strategic product plan specifically around creating a state-of-the-art AI platform by working with cross functional teams such as regional product, sales, consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics. This position may require occasional travel to client sites and Visa locations.
Essential Functions
Contribute to the overall product strategy, product roadmap, and business plan for Visa Global Data Platforms such as AIML Platform.
Partner with technology closely to execute on AI/ML capabilities and technologies that drive product delivery of high-profile core Visa AI products that form the strategic pillars of Visa.
Partner with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the payment ecosystem to develop product strategy and co-create solutions.
Ensure product vision and requirements are designed with scalability and long-term vision in mind.
Conceptualize, develop and launch new products & experiences at the intersection of payments and technology in the AI space.
Brainstorm with internal and external teams to develop ideas and potential solutions for co-creation.
Lead cross-functional team across research, design and development to design, test and pilot products.
Work closely with internal and external product and partner teams to ensure alignment on goals/scope, plan critical path and operational risks, and ensure transparent communication.
Synthesize requirements into a common set of platforms and services capabilities, writing very clear, thorough and detailed user stories for complex features and products.
Liaise with other business units, product leaders, engineering and other applicable groups to ensure flawless execution Provide status, action plans and recommendations to senior leadership on an ongoing basis.
Develop and advocate vision of an outstanding customer experience powered by advanced AI technologies.
Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SharePoint) required. Working knowledge of Agile tools such as CA Central (Rally), Confluence Wiki, Tableau, and JIRA strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements.
Product Requirements: Develop product requirements for a feature engineering platform. This includes working closely with the engineering team to ensure the product is built to specification and meets the needs of our users.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, to keep them informed of the product's progress and gather their input.
User Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of our users (data scientists) throughout the product development process. Ensure the final product meets their needs and enhances their ability to build, test, and deploy AI models.
Market Analysis: Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in AI/ML and feature engineering. Use this knowledge to keep our product competitive and innovative.
Product Vision and Strategy: Define product vision and strategy for feature engineering platform, and roadmaps, ensuring it aligns with the company's overall AI/ML strategy.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 2+ years’ experience in developing and delivering Artificial Intelligence solutions at enterprise or organizational level to solve customer or business problems.
- Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry specifically within new applications, Fraud Risk, Identity Risk, or Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science.
- 4 years of experience in product management, with demonstrated ability to launch and manage new product releases being part of a matrixed organization in a highly technical and evolving AI/ML space.
- Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and experience working with Scrum teams and matrixed organizations.
- Prior experience working within an agile product development environment
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of machine learning or data processing algorithms for risk and fraud applications.
- Experience in financial services and payments desired, but not required.
- Experience partnering with technologists using Agile or other expedited design and development methodologies.
