About the role

We are looking for a talented and experienced attorney to join our team and provide leadership on a wide range of corporate, intellectual property, and governance matters in the MENA region. Reporting directly to the General Counsel,you will handle all corporate, compliance, and regulatory matters, including contract negotiation and management; advising on IP-related matters; assisting in governance activities and statutory filings specific to the Indian jurisdiction; and ensuring compliance with Indian laws related to labor, data protection, and other relevant regulations. You’ll play an important role in our corporate and legal team, enabling our internal business teams and forming strong relationships throughout.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on matters related to the MENA region, including compliance, regulatory issues, and local business practices.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts with a focus on software licenses, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Intellectual Property: Advise on intellectual property issues, including patent, copyright, and trademark matters.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in governance activities and corporate filings in the MENA region.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage legal risks across various functional areas and geographies, particularly in the MENA region.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company is compliant with local laws and regulations in the MENA region, including data protection, consumer rights, and employment laws.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide guidance to legal staff on matters related to the MENA region and oversee external counsel relationships in the region.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate cross-functionally with different departments to address their legal needs and concerns.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to the evolving legal landscape and business requirements
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
  • Law degree from an accredited institution
  • 7-9 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on the MENA region
