Department Overview

The Product Development Group at IPVideo designs, engineers, and develops IoT based products for the safety and security industry. The team has developed the HALO and SentryERS products and continues to develop many more to add to the product portfolio. The department includes Cloud Development and Device Development teams. Within the Device Development team, the Project Management group manages all projects across the teams ensuring timely delivery, provides updates to stakeholders and collaborates with our vendors and partners.


Job Description

IPVideo is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our project management team. Do you want to make a difference and help make everyday life safer for schools, law enforcement, hospitals, and other organizations? You will help coordinate and lead the effort to plan, design, and deliver our next generation of Cloud software and IoT devices that bring situational awareness to our customers. A successful candidate:

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations 

  • Work with project stakeholders to clearly document project scope and objectives 
  • Ensure availability and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to execute projects within scope, schedule, and budget 
  • Utilizes software project management tools, such as JIRA, to create and maintain a detailed project plans to track progress.  
  • Leads frequent Sprint reviews of pending, ongoing, and resolved tasks with the development team. 
  • Regularly provide written and verbal project progress updates to project stakeholders, including expedited review of critical issues. 
  • When faced with changes to project scope, schedule, or cost, can identify and communicate benefits, risks, and impacts while considering the perspectives of the development team, stakeholders, and end users. 
  • Measure and assess project performance and provide quantitative and qualitative recommendations to improve future project efforts. 
  • Manage the relationships with all stakeholders and third parties 
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive file organization, version control, and project documentation. This may include: Product Requirements Documents, Design Specification Documents, Project Timelines, Project Proposals, Engineering Change Orders, Weekly Project Reports, and Procedures and Guides.

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills 

  • 5-7+ years of software project management experience relating to Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning projects, preferably those deployed in embedded electronics. 

  • 2-3+ years of AI/ML software development experience, preferably for embedded electronics or IoT applications. 

  • Proven track record of successful projects managed 

  • Experience organizing, prioritizing, and distributing project backlog activities 

  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills 

  • Can present and discuss highly technical concepts in an understandable and relevant manner with audiences of varying technical backgrounds 

  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus  

  • Experience working with cloud, web, mobile, and embedded software applications 

  • Familiar with software development life cycle best practices 

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and enforcing uniform coding standards 

  • Familiar with core AI/ML concepts including unsupervised learning, confusion matrices, regression analysis, correlation, K-models, K-means clustering, regularization, linearization, data tagging/labeling, hash tables, error types, decision trees, neural networks, pipelines, generative models, discriminative models. 

  • Familiar with programming languages such as Python, C#, .Net, C, C++, NodeJS. 

  • Familiar with cybersecurity best practices for cloud based applications and IOT electronics 

  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processor, and presentation tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint 

The base salary range for this position in New York is $120,000 - $150,000.
