Role 

Be amongst the first members of our accounting team! Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be the go to person for all things accounting at Harvey. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-growth start-up, is detail-oriented, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Sr. Accountant will be someone who is operationally proficient but is also willing to do research on technical accounting topics to resolve issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with transition from third party accounting firm to in-house accounting processes

  • Prepare journal entries and perform other day-to-day accounting activities, including supporting the month end close process to provide for accurate US GAAP financial statements

  • Assist with month end processes in all areas of accounting, including customer invoicing, cash application, journal entries, bill payments, accruals, credit card maintenance, stock-based compensation, etc.

  • Build account reconciliation workpapers to support the accuracy of our financial statements

  • Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance teams on metrics, flux analysis, and forecast as part of the monthly reporting package process

  • Prepare documents supporting audits to ensure successful completion

  • Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes to streamline close and build scalable solutions to support the growth of the Company

  • Identify and drive process improvements to gain efficiencies, enhance controls and reduce close timelines

  • Assist in developing and performing internal controls across all areas of accounting

  • Assist in developing accounting policies and process documentation

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related; CPA or equivalent required

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; 

  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 strongly preferred) 

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process is strongly preferred

  • Experience with financial audit preparation

  • Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc); must be highly proficient in Excel, Google Docs

  • Excellent writing, oral communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail

  • Excellent problem solving skills; project management experience a plus, ability to work in a fast pace environment

Compensation 

In consideration of market analysis and relevant factors, the salary range for this position is set between $115,000 and $140,000. However, adjustments outside of this range may be considered for candidates whose qualifications significantly differ from those outlined in the job description.

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in our equity plan and benefits program. Benefits include, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits (401k match up to 4%), and flexible PTO.
