Facebook's Policy team is seeking a Product Policy Manager for its FB App Product Policy team to provide policy counseling on GenAI product launches on the FB App. The role will collaborate with product teams, legal teams, and other policy teams to assess risks around our AI integrations on the Facebook App.Product Policy Manger - FB App Gen-AI Products Responsibilities
- Candidates should have expertise in counseling product teams to build with safety, integrity, privacy, transparency and expression in mind.
- Experience working directly on products with a focus on integrity issues and/or experience in the public or private sector with relevant focus and expertise in applicable policy areas.
- Experience working on AI products, both from technical and regulatory perspectives.
- They should also have strong analytical skills and share our vision of bringing the world closer together. They thrive in a fast paced environment and are able to prioritize multiple projects while making a global impact.
- Provide ongoing product counseling for new features for a variety of Facebook AI Products.
- Support the launch of new products by providing policy guidance on issues ranging from safety to fairness to human rights.
- Identify, monitor, and analyze policy issues that affect these products at the state, national, and international level in partnership with the Facebook Public Policy team.
- Address escalations and press inquiries related to supported products.
- Work across multiple lines of businesses including policy functions to establish a consistent policy approach.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Legal, Political Science, or similar field.
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in tech (product dev), policy, law, media, government, or journalism with an emphasis on products, technology, media regulation, and/or news publishing.
- Experience with product development lifecycle and product teams.
- Experience working cross-functionally and consensus-building, including managing multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Legal, Political Science, or similar field.
- 5+ years of experience in or working with the technology industry.
- Experience working on or with online products including messaging and video broadcasting platforms.
- Experience with policy development and/or policy counseling.
- Experience with providing policy risk assessment on new products.
- Experience dealing with escalations and/or time-sensitive issues.
