As a Silicon Systems AI engineer, you will improve Micron’s silicon and systems development processes by developing new paradigms in AI for first of a kind capability demonstrations. You will re-imagine our silicon to systems development flow to accelerate the velocity of innovation in Micron’s products. The silicon systems AI group is a small team of technologists collaborating cross-functionally with domain experts and data scientists inside and outside of Micron. You will bring new energy and ideas to the aspirational goal for changing the world for the better with Micron’s products and technologies with AI enablement.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively within the extended organization to identity opportunities in today’s development flows for creative disruption.
  • Define silicon systems AI projects with metrics driven phased implementation plan to move from concept incubation to scaled implementation.
  • Orchestrate and perform frontline engineering to build prototypes for proof of concept demonstrations with the intent to generate insights for new value creation.
  • Manage an eco-system of external partners, vendors and researchers to internalize & incubate AI concepts external to Micron.
  • Work closely with Micron’s customers to brain-storm new product concepts with critical AI enablement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in engineering and/or physics with a track record of academic achievement, preferably in form of publications and/or patents with 10+ years of related experience as described above, or PhD with 6+ years of experience.
  • Must have demonstrated expertise in ML/AI algorithms with emphasis on Reinforcement Learning, NLP and LLMs.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to influence co-workers and decision makers.
  • Must be articulate and passionate to drive change inside and outside Micron, with engaging executive presence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful product implementation experience is an added plus.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$175,000.00 - $298,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
