Our team is looking for a Principal Program Manager, Responsible AI, to support our committment

to growing trusted, safe, and inclusive global player communities, assuring regulatory compliance, and enabling foundational data services for Gaming through delivery of core products and services for Platform and Studios.

In this position, as part of the Gaming Trust Team, you will evolve Gaming’s Responsible AI implementation, evolving programs and strategic initiatives that support Gaming’s ability to develop new technologies and maintain compliance with an evolving regulatory landscape.

The candidate will have a passion for the positive impact potential of technology for people and communities and empathy for ethics issues related to privacy, security, inclusion, reliability & safety, transparency, and fairness. As well as experience in engineering to achieve responsible AI outcomes or in the translation of privacy, security, or accessibility mandates into engineering requirements that operate at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic Responsible AI initiatives that mature and evolve the Gaming Responsible AI program to meet compliance, legal, and customer trust needs as the program scales.
  • Foster lasting partnerships across Microsoft to ensure success in the development and implementation of Responsible AI policies, programs, scorecards, and tools for Gaming and beyond.
  • Effectively communicate Gaming Responsible AI’s vision, progress and outcomes to Gaming and Microsoft leadership.
  • Develop and implement robust compliance requirements and strategies that support and enhance our Responsible AI policy.
  • Create comprehensive guidelines, best practices, and repeatable design patterns to ensure consistent application across all gaming projects.
  • Lead the charge in evangelizing and educating the entire Gaming organization on the principles and importance of Responsible AI, fostering a culture of responsible innovation.
  • Work closely with Microsoft legal teams, security, and accessibility to serve as the voice of the customer to the business on matters related to ethical use of AI.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 5+ years experience implementing Responsible AI, privacy or security compliance and policies into corporate tooling and practices
  • 5+ years experience executing at-scale technical capabilities and driving compliance by design architectural solutions
  • 2+ years experience with AI or related technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to show progress and courage in the face of high levels of ambiguity
  • Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly, and independently manage complex project objectives
  • Experience supporting cultural change in an engineering organization
  • Detailed understanding of testing, build and release processes for Generative AI systems
  • Experience in Responsible AI approaches, processes, and tooling
  • Experience in data or information governance

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
