The Medical Technologist III is responsible for the accurate and precise performance of all laboratory protocols in the laboratory for the night shift duty.
Oversee the laboratory operation during nightshift ranging from staff scheduling, materials management, quality control, statistics, communication, and safety.
Ensures reporting of critical values during nightshift following standard operating procedures.
Maintains accurate and complete documentation of patient information, equipment, and test results to comply with regulations.
Ensures operation of analyzers, and other laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Runs daily quality control checks and performs CAP Proficiency testing as required.
Maintains laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Provides a healthy and safe working environment by maintaining cleanliness in the laboratory and practicing preventive measures.
Prepare samples for analysis.
Performs routine laboratory testing as per departmental policies and procedures.
Communicates critical, urgent, and abnormal results with ordering physicians.
Communicates with nursing and physicians on patient preparation, sample collection and integrity.
Prioritizes workload in an efficient productive manner.
Assists in maintaining CAP standards and DHA regulations.
