LEAD INTEGRATION ARCHITECT

Under limited supervision, the Lead Integration Architect serves as an integration subject matter expert across Cerner and other AHD applications and interfaces providing system, process and problem resolution expertise. The Lead Integration Architect plans, oversees and validates the integration of clinical information application analysis, build and testing processes with other clinical and non-clinical applications across the organization. A member of project leadership team and will advise on good software design and development practices, keeping overall quality and performance in mind. Educates team members on applications, concerns or requirements depending on the IA expertise. 

Must have a high level of technical expertise combined with clear insights into business practice and exposure to industry best practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide consultation on process design alternatives and supports system validation processes; provide guidelines for all levels of implementation and system upgrade testing!
  • Lead the coordination of unit, system, integration and history upload testing events with all project teams, track testing completion and escalate issues to the project manager as needed.
  • Lead the cross-team and vendor coordination for testing and scheduling upgrades.
  • Identify packages, upgrades and installations needed to maintain the clinical applications or to resolve issues with the software.
  • Coordinate with clinical teams to support processes to ensure data integrity within and across applications.
  • Actively participate in clinical quality and process improvement initiatives to ensure integration within and across applications.
  • Lead and monitor any change requests with regards to the Cerner applications
  • Oversee the creation of training materials for the facility for new design or design changes.
  • Attend all vendor and hospital trainings.
  • Support other team members in day-to-day activities; support the IT leadership in developing the process and procedures; train co-workers and support team on the system functionalities and workflows as assigned.
  • Facilitate development of downtime procedures and updates policies accordingly
  • Perform all other duties and participates in other projects as assigned or directed by IT leadership. 
  • Develop requirements and deliver projects in a direct working relationship with clinicians, end-users and stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS : 

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or Information Systems
  • Must have ability to communicate, motivate, and organize projects among a broad spectrum of personnel throughout the network, frequently under deadline pressure.
  • High degree of problem solving and technical curiosity to understand underlying application architecture.
  • Demonstrate independent decision making as appropriate when evaluating system improvements and determine feasibility and advisability of system changes.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years’ experience with managing Cerner clinical applications as an Integration Architect
