About the role

We are looking for a talented and experienced attorney to join our team and provide leadership on a wide range of corporate, intellectual property, and governance matters in India. Reporting directly to the General Counsel,you will handle all corporate, compliance, and regulatory matters, including contract negotiation and management; advising on IP-related matters; assisting in governance activities and statutory filings specific to the Indian jurisdiction; and ensuring compliance with Indian laws related to labor, data protection, and other relevant regulations. You’ll play an important role in our corporate and legal team, enabling our internal business teams and forming strong relationships throughout.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Leading Corporate Legal Strategies: Oversee all corporate legal processes including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and compliance with local and international legal standards.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Advise on and manage intellectual property rights, ensuring protection and compliance across all business units.
  • Contract Negotiation and Oversight: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and legal requirements.
  • Governance and Compliance: Coordinate governance practices and procedures, ensuring they meet statutory requirements and advise on corporate governance affairs.
  • Regulatory Affairs: Monitor and analyze changes in laws that affect the company’s operations in India, ensuring all business processes remain compliant with labor, data protection, and other relevant regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide guidance to legal staff on matters related to India and oversee external counsel relationships in the region.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate cross-functionally with different departments to address their legal needs and concerns.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to the evolving legal landscape and business requirements
  • Law degree from an accredited institution
  • 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the technology sector
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of regional languages is a plus
