Role Overview:As a pivotal member of our team, the Head of Risk will report directly to the General Manager (GM) and play a crucial role in overseeing overall credit, fraud and operational risk management activities across the organization. They will ensure a comprehensive approach to risk mitigation and regulatory compliance, identifying and addressing business risks, and enhancing the overall risk management framework. The Head of Risk will collaborate closely with senior leadership, including our Chief Risk Officer and our Head of Compliance, to provide strategic insights and recommendations that support Tabby's growth and success in the dynamic fintech landscape of the region. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Stay updated with regulatory guidelines and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements set by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) and other relevant authorities.
  • Conduct risk assessments across credit risk, fraud risk and various other business areas, including technology, operations, liquidity, and other enterprise risks.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks through effective risk control measures, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, highlighting key risk indicators, trends, and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead incident response efforts and coordinate with relevant teams to address and resolve risk-related incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including tech, product, and operations to ensure a holistic approach to risk management.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, facilitate regulatory inspections, and support compliance initiatives.
  • Promote risk awareness culture within the organization through training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the risk management function, leveraging data analytics and emerging risk management tools.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CFA would be a plus
  • Proven experience in risk management roles within the financial services industry, preferably in fintech or banking sectors across both credit, fraud and operational risk
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in Saudi Arabia, particularly related to financial risk management and compliance (SAMA regulations)
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams spanning engineering, product management, customer service, and other Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) units
  • Assessing business and operational risks comprehensively and executing the development and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures aimed at effective risk mitigation
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and drive risk management initiatives across the organization
