As an Experience Design Specialist Executive Director in the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), you will be a professional expert and leader in the field of experience design, driving the development and implementation of innovative user experiences across multiple products and services. Entrusted with significant autonomy and discretion, define the standard of quality and oversee service delivery within the User Experience Design group. Your deep expertise in experience design will be instrumental in shaping long-term organizational strategies, fundamentally enhancing customer experiences.

As the head of out AI Experience Design team, you will lead the charge in shaping the user experience for our cutting-edge AI products. Your expertise in AI technologies and user-centered design principles will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of usability and effectiveness. 

Job responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and implement user experience strategies for a variety of products and services to align with business needs to foster innovation
  • Direct complex, end-to-end design projects within or across domains, craft service flow diagrams and product features, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
  • Solve intricate design challenges and introduce novel methods to uplift user experiences
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and champion user-centered design principles, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to infuse user experience design principles into product development processes and ensure cohesive and inclusive experiences
  • Lead a talented team responsible for the product design of generative AI/LLMs, speech recognition, and news analytics products firmwide
  • Develop a talent strategy and develop the team in order to address the increasing demands of AI 
  • Drive user research and testing initiatives to gather insights and validate design concepts 
  • Track emerging AI technologies and UX trends to keep our products at the forefront of the industry 
  • Sponsor and support the Human-Centered Ai community of practice, developing guidelines, UX patterns, and best practices 
  • Champion the integration of ethical design principles 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 7+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in user experience design, interaction design, or related fields
  • Demonstrated expertise in information architecture and visual design, with a portfolio of aesthetically appealing and functional digital products
  • Proven history of developing innovative user experiences across various platforms and channels
  • Expertise in inclusive design, accessibility guidelines, and assistive technologies, capable of creating user-friendly designs for a diverse audience
  • Expert technical knowledge, with an advanced understanding of the impact of client-side technologies, APIs, and the technology stack on user experience
  • Proven experience in leading UX design teams and delivering successful AI and data products to drive growth, deliver operation efficiency and reduce risk
  • An ability to think strategically and drive innovation in AI experience design, supporting AI and data leaders in the planning and execution of the product strategy
  • An understanding of market trends, product knowledge, and technological advancements with the ability to leverage emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive user experience outcomes 
  • Ability to quickly identify and scale design patterns and practices that accelerate delivery, increase value and scale impact
  • Comfortable working with a geographically distributed team

  • A desire to teach others and share knowledge, coaching other team members on design principles, practices, and implementation patterns for data and AI experiences
  • Intellectually curious and innovative mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and chance, an ability to learn technologies and patterns quickly, and articulate complex concepts simply and succinctly
  • A commitment to high standards and high personal expectations  
  • Presence as an active individual in the design community, sharing thought-leadership and design acumen through the likes of conferences, blogs, socials, or podcasts
