Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Graduate Programs the GPLLM Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the Faculty of Law’s Global Professional Master of Laws (GPLLM) program by performing a wide range of duties, including admissions, registration, events planning, course set-up, and student relations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising students on program and/or course requirements by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
- Identifying changes to student records that affect academic status and correcting status as required
- Determining logistical details required for the execution of admissions processes
- Interpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirements
- Determining which applications to refer to committee for selection
- Overseeing testing and exam activities and related processes
- Resolving issues that arise while examinations are being written and escalating problems as required
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years experience advising students on student records and admissions as well as other registrarial functions, within a registrarial environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting an executive program and its students.
- Demonstrated experience in program administration and supporting faculty in various aspects of building and delivering their courses.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and assessing student records that affect academic status and correcting status as required; checking to confirm eligibility to graduate.
- Demonstrated experience working with grades including cumulative grade point averages.
- Experience coordinating examination processes; resolving issues that arise while examinations are being written and escalating problems as required.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies on academic regulations, program, and degree requirements.
- Experience tracking and gathering data and drafting statistics reports for admissions projections and planning activities.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating educational workshops and seminars.
- Demonstrated understanding of legal education, law school culture and issues facing international law students.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and build strong effective relationships with a professional, multi-cultural, international, and diverse student body.
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong Communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders including faculty, staff, and students.
- Strong record and data management skill.
- Demonstrated computer skills including intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrated experience working with database systems such as Quercus, ACORN and ROSI.
- Excellent tact, initiative and good judgement.
- Strong customer service orientation.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 -- $78,308 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $100,144. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
