Job Description
Join our international team as a Domain Architect in the Domain AAA (Architecture, Automation & AI platforms) in the Data tribe!
Purpose:
- Are responsible for ensuring that the architecture at all levels (business, application, infrastructure,...) is in line with the architecture guidelines and roadmaps of higher-level entities.
- Necessary initiatives, technical enablers and measures to adapt and optimize the architecture are designed, included in the backlogs and implemented
- Design the architecture in their area of responsibility in such a way that both infrastructure costs are minimized and operational and further development costs are optimized.
- Take into account current and future planning assumptions regarding infrastructure budgets, development capacity and skills in their planning, roadmaps and initiatives.
- Provide transparency on the Architecture Runway in your area of responsibility and the key actions to develop it further.
- act as Business Epics Owner for architecture measures
- collaborate with architects in other domains and with the Data Tribe architects in joint teams and committees to define the Data Tribe architecture.
Responsibilities:
Aligning Business and Technical Strategies
- Aligning organization design with optimal architectural design
- Defining Strategic Themes (technologies, business domains, reference architectures, security, design thinking, architectural frameworks, governance, risk, and compliance) together with Portfolio Mgt and central Function Architecture
- Identifying and designing Development Value Streams that optimize the flow of value for new and existing technology initiatives
- Promoting, Enabling Built-in Quality
Establish the Portfolio’s Intentional Architecture
- Maintaining the architectural Runway, to guide the evolution of solutions, existing code, and technical infrastructure needed to implement near-term features without excessive redesign and delay.
- Aligning technology approaches across Value Streams ensuring emergent design choices are made with an understanding of the overall architectural strategy and roadmap, minimizing technology complexity
- Synchronizing technical disciplines (help synchronize various disciplines across solutions whenever applicable: system and data security and quality, production infrastructure, solution user experience and Nonfunctional Requirements.
Rationalizing the Technology Portfolio
- Eliminate redundancy by consolidating of similar applications
- Minimize unnecessary IT spending by a well-organized technical architecture will provide the data needed to help define the necessity of future applications.
- Maintaining & Reduce IT operational cost / complexity by uncovering substantial savings after application rationalization, eliminating of unused applications and moving to the cloud
Fostering Innovative Ideas and Technologies
- Achieving business outcomes by using new technologies, practices, and standards
- Aligning technical decisions. Coordinate and develop common standards and architectures for system and data security, quality, production infrastructure, and Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs)
- Supporting the development environment by influencing and promoting good practices for modeling, system design, and coding
- Retiring obsolete technologies --> migrate off outdated technologies and decommission solutions
Interaction Partner(s):
- close cooperation central function Architecture & Governance, Portfolio Mgt and PM/POs of value stream architects
- taking architectural governance and standards of DT into planning & action within the teams
- Close cooperation with DVSLs & teams
Qualifications
- Assuming responsibility for all interactions of components, systems, functions from the network to the point of interaction with the customer; in this context, designing a comprehensive vision taking into account high-level business requirements and implications, and with a view to sustainability
- Identifying innovations in technology fields and being actively involved with implementation within the Group and in the industry (standardization, open source communities, suppliers, interest groups, patents, etc.)
- Devising concepts, policies, and other documents for the assigned area(s) of responsibility and agreeing these with internal departments and customers
- Steering the architecture and design activities, including those of major strategic and international projects and programs
- Bringing together and coordinating all services
- Advising top management on technological, architectural issues of system development and integration
- Practicing active management and transfer of knowledge
