Responsibilities
Lead multiple global feature teams to deliver production-grade machine learning solutions with notable business impact from end to end
Establish a clear vision and executable strategies for different machine learning component teams
Take initiative to address technical challenges, tackle open problems, and advance the team’s machine learning capabilities
Research latest machine learning technologies and keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments
Ideate new machine learning projects with significant business value and create proof of concepts
Introduce and enforce best engineering practices, uphold engineering quality standards, and streamline machine learning development and deployment processes
Interface with cross-site cross-functional stakeholders to create effective roadmaps, manage their expectations, and ensure smooth execution of projects
Closely work with external partners to introduce new machine learning features and tools
Help establish the team’s reputation beyond Samsung
Mentor and grow junior members in the team and foster a positive team culture
Skills and Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields
10+ years of industry experience with a Master’s degree or 6+ years of industry experience with a PhD degree
Experience with leading production-grade machine learning products with substantial revenue impact
Solid theoretical background in machine learning and/or data mining
Solid understanding of real-time machine learning systems
Proficiency in mainstream ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML, etc.)
Experience with mainstream big data tools (e.g., MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, etc.)
Extensive programming experience in Python, Go or other OOP languages
Familiarity with data structures, algorithms and software engineering principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong technical leadership and organizational abilities
Excellent project and team management skills
Preferred Experience Requirements:
Publications in top relevant venues (e.g., TPAMI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, KDD, WWW, AAAI, IJCAI, etc.)
Basic knowledge about Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience with the advertising industry, real-time bidding (RTB) ecosystem, demand-side platform (DSP), and Ad Manager
CALIFORNIA ONLY
Compensation for this role is expected to be between $285,000 and $300,000. Actual pay will be determined by considering factors such as relevant skills and experience and comparing them to other employees in the role.
