What is the opportunity?   

As the Director, eMessage and AI, Global Privacy, you will oversee RBC’s enterprise-wide Electronic Messaging (eMessaging) Policy. You will also lead the advisory and oversight of privacy risks arising from the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and support wider compliance initiatives relating to AI. You will partner with senior stakeholders across business lines and oversight functions, to execute on strategic initiatives and ensure adequate enterprise-level oversight of emerging risks and issues in relation to eMessage, AI and privacy.  

What will you do?  

  • Oversee RBC’s Enterprise eMessaging Policy, working with businesses, functions, and oversight partners to support a robust program of eMessaging management. Oversight will include mobile device provisioning, training, application assessment and ongoing monitoring.
  • Lead the advisory and oversight of privacy risks arising from RBC’s use of AI, and support the wider compliance oversight of AI model, including the development and maintenance of a fit-for-purpose oversight model.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, including in relation to emerging technologies, electronic messaging, and privacy risk more broadly, partnering with senior stakeholders across RBC to ensure robust oversight. 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have  

  • Strong knowledge of privacy, compliance and regulatory risk management practices
  • Subject matter expertise in eMessaging and AI
  • Experience working in the financial services industry
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Proven effective communication skills
  • University degree in law, business, finance, or a related field.

Nice-to-have 

  • Privacy Accreditation (IAPP).
