As the Data I/O Supervisor you will be joining an innovative generative AI startup changing the future of filmmaking. The Data I/O Supervisor will report to the Senior Director of Production Pipeline -in Santa Monica LA. The Data I/O Supervisor will be responsible for deliverables in complex projects around the production and delivery of localization and foreign language dubbing solutions across feature films, episodic series, and commercial content. The Data I/O Supervisor will oversee our data input/output operations, ensuring secure and efficient transfer of assets between our clients, partners, and our studio. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of production assets, adhering to industry-standard TPN protocols and specifications.  As a Production Leader, clear, concise, and constant communication is paramount to the success of our production ability.  This leader must be able to work effectively and efficiently with our cross-functional teams in both the US and UK locations. 

Requirements

  • Lead and manage the Data I/O team, ensuring the secure transfer of footage to and from clients and partners.
  • Willingness to personally deliver/ingest materials as well as create pipeline and process as we grow into a larger team.
  • Understanding of Technical QC Pipelines and a willingness to grow another small QC team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Post Production, Tech team, and Information Security & Production Management to ensure adherence to TPN Protocols and internal security standards.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data transfer processes.
  • Hands-on involvement in data transfer operations, especially in the initial stages, with the goal to support and manage a team as we scale.
  • Coordinate with Pipeline, Engineering, IT and DevOps to address operational workflows.
  • Build and manage a small team, scheduling hours to meet production and company-wide needs, including shift-based scheduling outside of typical business hours as needed.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of data transfer tools such as Aspera & Media Shuttle and production tracking tools like Shotgrid.
  • Collaborate with science & product teams to improve product and overall company goals.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in feature film, episodic, animation, VFX or post-production, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of data transfer in a post-production environment.
  • Experience supervising an I/O team in a fast paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of TPN Protocols and standards for secure file sharing of production assets.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger collaborative team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • have a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to adapt to extended work hours as needed.
  • Experience developing I/O pipelines working with engineering & development teams.
  • Experience with python coding is a plus
