About the role:

The Associate Manager, Intelligent Automation (IA) CoE will be a key contributor in the ongoing delivery and expansion of IA/AI solutions that help drive business efficiencies. This role will be responsible for leading and overseeing Intelligent Automation (IA) projects within our organization, while playing a pivotal role in driving the adoption of automation technologies, streamlining processes, and enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, assisting with the evolution strategy of the COE, exploring new AI technologies, including Generative AI (GenAI) to ensure our organization remains innovative and competitive in the rapidly evolving landscape of automation. The preferred candidate is an individual with strong technical, analytical, communication, process improvement, critical thinking, and business partnership skills. The ideal candidate works best within a team environment, is a self-starter, detailed oriented, is capable of handling multiple projects, and is committed to quickly delivering high-quality services and solutions within deadlines.

The Intelligent Automation CoE Team within GBS delivers innovative business intelligence and analytic solutions through collaboration with internal stakeholders based on their defined business use cases. The IA CoE utilizes advanced data strategy tools to bring together structured and unstructured data to solve reporting, visualization and process optimization needs of the business. We are seeking an individual who will innovate with the team and further the advancement of intelligent automation to deliver incremental value to Boston Scientific. This position will report into the Senior Manager, Technical Strategy and Development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as a technical mentor and leader for various Intelligent Automation (IA) and GenAI initiatives.
  • Lead a team specializing in projects that optimize processes in collaboration with the business stakeholders.
  • Work with the project or product team to translate business requirements into automated business intelligence or process optimization solutions.
  • Contribute to business intelligence and intelligent automation solution testing activities
  • Develop understanding of business processes, underlying data, data structures, intelligent automation technology, and business uses of data, tools, and processes.
  • Provide end user support and deliver training to technical team and business users.
  • Provide guidance to production support by delivering back up training and assisting with root cause analysis and break / fix.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, scalability, and/or standardization
  • Participate in feasibility, capacity planning, sprint planning/sizing for end-to-end project success.
  • Ensure GBS IA standards, best practices, and controls are implemented and followed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Computer Science, Computer / Software Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or Data Science degree preferred 
  • 5-10 years of development experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics and/or Process Automation
  • Demonstrated experience with programming languages such as SQL, VBA, PowerShell, Python and/or R
  • Strong analytical, technical, critical thinking, data oriented, innovative, and problem-solving skills, and able to understand complex customer needs to help create solution designs
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate technical topics; both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of project and product teams
  • Strong attention to detail (the advancement of intelligent automation and analytics capabilities requires high degree of accuracy and quality)
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Languages: English, additional language skills a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Generative AI projects and initiatives.
  • Experience with systems and platforms like SAP ERP (ECC and/or S4), SAP Ariba, and/or SFDC
  • Experience working with tools or technology such as Automation Anywhere, OCR, and/or Chatbots or other automation or machine learning technology.
  • Experience working with the Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate)
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA and Agile principles such as story sizing
  • Global experience; exposure to regional and business unit management teams, experience in organizational transformation projects, and/or experience in shared services organizations are a plus
