CACI is seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program Manager and Task Order Lead who will manage a team of technical and functional experts supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Headquarters, Chief Technology Officer Directorate (CTOD), Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology (AI/ET) initiative.

This team works with a federal workforce staff with technical expertise for the smooth functioning of high-visibility, department-wide AI initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Project Management and an understanding of AI Governance and policy development and implications, AI pilot program development and management, Generative AI capabilities and technology assessments, and application of AI technologies and capabilities. Ideal candidates will have a strong technical background, exceptional project management skills, and demonstrate a passion for AI technologies.

This is a remote work eligible position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program Manager and Task Order Lead is responsible for the overall management, performance, and completion of projects, and tasks for the program. Duties include all areas of project management, from initiation through closeout to ensure the successful execution of the project's mission, goals, and objectives.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize, and direct all program activities

  • Ensure that program goals and objectives are met within contract terms and conditions

  • Serve as the primary point of contact when interacting with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), federal executives, and managers

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of all task order services

  • Install a management, administrative and technical team focused on proactively integrating and optimizing processes across contract functions

  • Produce task order-wide deliverables based on the full scope of the Statement of Work (SOW)

  • Ensure senior level management within the client organization is aware of overall program status including risks, strategic options, and decisions for resolution.

  • Provide thought leadership to drive customer mission priorities and program success.

  • Bring a collaborative, team-centric attitude and enthusiasm that encourages outreach and partnership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred

  • BA/BS and 10 years’ experience in a related field with supervisory or managerial experience, or equivalent (equivalency includes MA + 7 years applicable experience or AA + 12 years applicable experience)

  • A minimum of 5 years’ management experience

  • 3+ years’ experience working in and/or leading a geographically dispersed, remote workforce

  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed, remote workforce

  • Strong organization and communications skills and ability to work collaboratively with Senior Government Leaders

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Advanced MS Office Suite proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)

  • Strong initiative to proactively establish relationships, setting up working groups to achieve outcomes, finding opportunities to innovate and improve value, as well as providing new ideas for improvement

  • Ability to work independently on a complex task with little direction and management oversight

  • Able to understand the customer operational needs and identify areas for improvement in business processes and propose solutions

  • Application level understanding of 508 compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP, Scrum, Agile)

  • Knowledge of best practices in responsible AI

  • Knowledge of Facial Recognitions/Face Capture (FR/FC) capabilities and underlying technologies, like biometrics

  • Understanding of AI policy development and compliance auditing

  • Understanding of Generative AI tools used for enhanced productivity

  • Experience as a senior advisor to senior federal executives (e.g. Congressional Staffer, Federal Department Staff, 3-Star GO/FO Staff)

  • Knowledge of machine learning and large language models

  • Understanding of data privacy, ethics, and regulatory considerations in AI.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to relate effectively with program employees, government/client representatives, and internal organizational functional representatives

  • Able to discover relevant data, understand the context it is being used, and apply experience analysis to turn data into useful information

  • Experienced receiving initial program information, conducting research to better understand requirements, and achieving high quality results

  • Ability to ensure compliance of products made available for public release on government sites

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$74,600-$156,700
