As an Applied AI ML Senior Associate within our Wholesale Payments team, you will design and implement high-quality solutions for complex business problems at JPMorgan. You will be part of our industry-leading data analytics team at JPMorgan Corporate Investment Bank, using cutting-edge machine learning techniques and the company’s unique data assets to optimize business decisions. In this role, you will advance the state-of-the-art in financial applications, ranging from generating business intelligence to predictive models and automated decision making.

Job responsibilities

  • Learning about and understanding our supported businesses in order to drive practical and successful solutions
  • Choosing, extending and innovating ML strategies for various banking problems
  • Applying ML techniques, such as: Data/text mining, Document analysis and summarization, Applying various NER algorithms, Document visual QA, Image/text classification, Image processing, OCR, Design, pre-train and finetune LLMs  
  • Documenting and explaining the rationale and design considerations behind the selection of an ML approach
  • Analyzing and evaluating the ongoing performance of developed models 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience with Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in an ML-related field
  • Advance knowledge with text-mining, NLP, bag-of-words, word2vec, RNNs, text clustering, or NER
  • Ability to work collaboratively within our team and with other teams to achieve common goals
  • Experience in classical ML techniques including classification, clustering, optimization, cross validation, data wrangling, feature selection, and feature extraction
  • Expertise in image processing, template matching, feature descriptors, or CNNs
