Job Summary

The Data-Centric Solution Specialist will be a senior technical sales executive who is obsessed with being integral to our customers' Digital Transformation journey. They will be excited by the magic that NetApp Solutions can uniquely deliver against their business requirements to create world-class AI or ML development environments.

 

They will have proven experience and skills at combining the 4 elements of:

  1. Customer business understanding.
  2. Expert technical competence.
  3. Deep value selling skills.
  4. Ability to manage an opportunity selling cycle to close.

 

In addition, candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and presentation, have the ability to scale that communication across a wide range of audiences from end-users to executive management. Be driven to overachieve. Work best in a team selling environment through amazing collaboration and have world-class operational hygiene.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have proven experience working in AI/ML development environments and understand what the business and technology challenges are for data scientists. Ideally, they would have occupied a practitioner role prior to applying their skills and experience to that of a Solution Specialist. They will have an appetite to go from a broad understanding of NetApp’s offerings to becoming an expert, matching the best NetApp solution to the business problem being presented.

 

The ideal candidate will also have technical selling experience and a proven track record of successful customer selling campaigns.

 

AI/ML Workload opportunity generation will come from a number of primary sources including:

  • Increasing the velocity of existing pipeline
  • Sales generated leads
  • Marketing-generated leads
  • Propensity data
  • Working with specialist partners, where that partner has agreed to provide selling muscle
  • Hunting based on account collaboration

 

As opportunities are identified this specialist will be responsible for leading and managing the key complex AI/ML opportunities within their Area. To be successful in the role, the candidate will need to deliver total solutions to prospects and customers by teaming with NetApp Partners, sellers, architects, BU, and in some cases exec sponsors.  

Education and Experience

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree and MBA Preferred.
  • US Citizenship is required; Security Clearance(s) preferred

The salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations is $214,000 - $261,000 total on target earnings. Final compensation will depend on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset, and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law. In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
