Compensation package: €60,000 - €65,000 in yearly salary, €10,000 - €30,000 in equity. Additionally, up to €5,000 p.a. in company benefits
Work model: Hybrid in Munich or remote in Germany; however, occasional travel to Munich is required.
As our Accounting Manager (m/f/d), you are responsible for shaping Orbem’s accounting processes and ensuring compliance with best practices. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance and our team of over 100 people to define, establish, and execute our accounting processes.
Your dedication to daily accounting tasks, combined with a focus on optimizing and automating processes, supports our growth, which has been fueled by over EUR 30 million in Series A funding.
Our goal is to implement the most efficient accounting systems, utilizing platforms like Spendesk and Netsuite.
As the primary contact for Accounting and tax for our main German entity, you will shape financial processes in compliance with national and international standards. Your responsibilities include:
Define, implement, and execute best practice accounting processes within a new ERP system for a growing team.
Lead process improvement projects across Accounting and Tax.
Ensure the stable execution of daily accounting operations and manage month and year-end closes in collaboration with our tax consultant.
Adhere to local accounting standards and complete balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
Provide accounting guidance to operating companies, Director of Finance, and develop accounting talent.
Coordinate periodic financial reviews and audits with external firms.
Support Orbem’s growth through international expansion.

Experience and skills
Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline such as the German “Bilanzbuchhalter:in.”
2+ years of experience in accounting and tax according to German GAAP (“HGB”).
Deep technical understanding of accounting systems and modern German accounting standards.
Proven capability to execute and define accounting processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
Fluent in English and German speaker, possessing great communication skills.
You leverage your critical thinking and analytical skills in decision-making.
You have assumed project management roles in the past.
You have experience with IFRS in addition to HGB.
You have successfully implemented or substantially changed existing accounting systems.
You have a deep understanding of accounting processes and know how to automate them.
You have been the primary contact person within accounting and tax audits.
Experience with Spendesk and Netsuite is a plus.
