What you’ll do:

As we continue to expand our ability to deliver on our mission of protecting trust, safety and integrity across the information ecosystem we are seeking dynamic sales professionals to drive and support our growth across government and commercial markets.
As an Account Executive - Public Sector, you'll report to the Head of Government Sales. You'll discover and win new business and collaborate with the Sales team to strategically develop accounts. You'll also partner closely with Product, Partnerships, Marketing, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success teams to continuously provide feedback on our messaging, positioning, and solution capabilities and road map.
As the Account Executive, you’ll have the chance to:
- Develop a deep understanding of Blackbird.AI's product offering and how to align it to our clients' requirements and operational needs.
- Plan and implement a full cycle sales strategy targeting new customer acquisition and expansion within the install base for the Public Sector vertical, partnering collaboratively with teammates to align on the best approach.
- Provide an increased level of public sector knowledge that leads to improved solution selling, strategic alignment and growth across multiple segments.
- Develop deep insights regarding customer use cases, internal decision making nuances, budget cycles and other key information necessary to close the sale and shape the success of this new vertical.
- In close partnership with our Sales Team, ensuring a balanced pipeline of multiple opportunities against quarterly and annual growth targets.
Requirements
What you’ll bring:
- Proven track record of success selling SaaS or software solutions to public sector clients, with a focus on federal departments and agencies.
- Experience selling SaaS solutions in SLED (State, Local, Education).
- Located in or around the Washington D.C. area, with the ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales quotas, with a track record of carrying quotas of $1.5M or more.
- Experience working with resellers, VARs, distributors, small business partners as well as large integrators to advance opportunities and close new business.
- 3-5 years of experience in a hunter role, driving new logo sales and building a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- At least 3 years of selling security software.
- Strong understanding of the public sector landscape, including government procurement processes and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Proven ability of discovering, building and closing net new accounts.
- Navigate complex org structures and tech stacks across the business as you lead discovery and solution conversations.
Nice to have:
- BS/BA degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
- B2B, AI and/or Start-up experience.

Pay Transparency:
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, D.C., Blackbird.AI is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Washington D.C. It takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Blackbird.AI, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is expected to be $110,000-$140,000. This range may vary for positions outside of Washington D.C. and as it has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled and does not consider our bonus and commission structures.
Regardless of location, candidates can expect during the first few conversations with Blackbird.AI’s Talent Team and Hiring Managers to share any approved budget and details on our competitive incentive bonus or commission packages for positions where applicable.
