Manchester Airports Group (MAG) is the UK’s leading airport group and owns and operates Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports. MAG employs over 6,000 people and annually serves over 55 million passengers. To build a more sustainable future, MAG has an extensive and ambitious Strategy in place, with a target to be Net Zero carbon by 2038 – 12 years ahead of the national target. MAG was the first airport group in the UK to be certified as Carbon Neutral in 2016, was a founding member of Sustainable Aviation in 2005 and 100% of our airports' energy needs are achieved through renewable sources. MAG also has a substantial property business, with over £640 million of investment property assets across its airports, and has a 50% investment in the £1 billion, 5 million sq ft Airport City development at Manchester Airport. Utilising advanced MI, digital platforms and new and emerging technologies, MAG is managed on behalf of its shareholders who comprise Manchester City Council (35.5%), IFM Investors (35.5%) and the nine other Greater Manchester local authorities (29%) MAG is a growing business that is using its success to drive regional benefits; focusing on employment, skills, education and regeneration. 30,000 young people’s education in our local communities were directly supported by MAG in the last year. We contributed £6.2 billion to the national economy and our airports employed 39,600 people on site.
